In this tutorial we are going to show you how to a“Remove Blemish” from your Son or Daughter’s photo. As you can see in the image below this young boy has ended up with a very nasty bruise on his forehead.

So how do we get rid of this? We are going to be using the following tools; “Patch Tool” and the “Clone Stamp Tool”.
The first thing you need to select is the “Elliptical Marquee Tool” which can be found on the right handside. Now you just need to drag a selection over the top of the Blemish. You need to make sure you get all the Blemish inside the selection, plus a little extra.

We need to make sure that the selection isn’t very sharp and harsh around the edges. For this we need to “Feather” the selection. Select > Modify > Feather. You’ll notice a dialog box pop up for the “Feather Selection”. You need to alter the Feather Radius to 10pixels. If you have a smaller selection then you need to make your “Feather Selection” smaller.
Once this is done you now need to go ahead and grab your “Patch Tool” you’ll find this on the left handside in your “Tools Pallette”.
To get the “Patch Tool” to work correctly you need to move the “Patch Tool” inside the selection, then click and hold and then drag it to an area you want your selection to look like.

If you’re happy you can then just let go, this then deselects that selected area and covers it with the new area.

It’s not the finished product yet. Next we need to apply the “Clone Stamp Tool”. This can also be found on the right handside in the “Tools Pallette”. Once this is selected make sure you have the correct brush size, also make sure the “Opacity” is set to 60. Now just hold down “Alt or Option” and click to sample an area, then just start painting on top of the area you are altering.

You’ll then notice it correcting that area, carry on with this process until you are really happy with your end result.
